MIRACLES SIGNS AND WONDERS FOLLOW THOSE WHO BELIEVE
1 Corinthians 14:22
Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe.
I want to share a story with you. This is a story about an experience I had years ago as a young Youth Pastor in our local Church. Myself, the associate Pastor, another preacher and a member of the congregation was on a hiking trip. We were hiking way back in the mountains. This story may seem insignificant to many but to me it taught me the power of responding to the word and searching for the miracles that cannot always be seen with the natural eyes. The miracle that can only be seen through the eyes of the spirit and when you seek it out . The spiritual miracle manifests in the physical realm.
I was 22 or 23 at the time, as we hiked through the woods one of the men began to complain that he was hungry and wanted a cheese burger. Keep in mind we were way back in the wilderness 100s of miles away from other humans and civilization . The only food and water we had was what we had in our back packs and that was very little.
Immediately the Lord Jesus drops a scripture into my spirit 1 Kings 17:4 And it shall be, that thou shalt drink of the brook; and I have commanded the ravens to feed thee there.
My immediate response and believing in the voice of the Lord determined the outcome of my reward by faith.
I responded to my friend's desire for a cheese burger with . “ LORD at this next campsite I want a bar-b-q sandwich” , my friends immediately spoke in unbelief “ yeah right”, I responded to there unbelief by “ MY GOD CAN DO ANYTHING” the I began to put my expectation with my words by faith and I begin to tell the Lord in the presence of my friends I was hiking with the complainers. I said “ LORD at this next camp site I want a steak” my friends spoke more doubt and unbelief “ that's never going to happen they said” my response “ OH YEAH LORD I WANT SOME A1 STEAK SAUCE ALSO.”
Keep in mind we are miles away from human beings or any place where we could possibly receive a good meal.
So with the word in my heart that the Lord spoke to me out of 1 Kings 17:4 And it shall be, that thou shalt drink of the brook; and I have commanded the ravens to feed thee there.
I begin to seek out the Lord's provision based on my request and his ability to supply all my needs according to his riches and glory.
Philippians 4:19 But my God shall supply all your needs according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
We hiked a little bit and at the next campsite I met some women . I asked them if they had any steaks in their bags. They said no, but they had grapes instead. I did not let this detour me full expectation that God was very capable of feeding me a wonderful meal out in the wilderness in the middle of nowhere.
Keep in mind he said it so it is so. We have to believe his word with every inch of our hearts to receive him in all his Majesty.
The night drew near and there was no sign of a bar-b-q sandwich or a steak just yet or my A1 steak sauce.
So at the campsite a young man hiked seemingly out of nowhere. I helped him gather some firewood for his fire because I wanted to help him. During the time I was helping him I found some lizards that I put on the fire to cook and eat. I filled my cup with water from the creek without realizing. I am living the word that the lord spoke to me earlier that day. The young man asked me if I had any food because he saw me eating lizards and asked me if I wanted a bar-b-q sandwich. “ ABSOLUTELY YES I WANT A BAR-B-Q SANDWICH” I said . I was so excited God did a small impossible answering a silly prayer out in the middle of nowhere because he cares for you and I. I ate my bar-b-q sandwich. A few hours later that same young man yelled across the campsite out in the middle of the woods . “ HEY BRAD, DO YOU WANT A STEAK.” I was so excited with joy that God answered my prayer from earlier that day. The young man I have never met before in my life and did not have any clue of the prayer I prayed earlier that day on the trail brought me a steak. As I looked at my steak , I realized something was missing. I yelled across the woods to his campsite and asked if he had any A1 steak sauce. He indeed had A1 steak sauce.
My friends that hiked into the woods with me from our church who heard my prayer and doubted the Lord's ability to answer were in awe of what the Lord just did. They doubted that the Lord was able BUT by my faith believing and responding to the word he put in my spirit earlier that day all my friends partook in the blessing I received.
DO NOT EVER LET ANYONE TELL YOU GOD CANNOT. GOD CAN DO ANYTHING HE SPOKE THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE INTO EXISTENCE.
WE HE SPEAKS THE VERY EARTH MOVES OUT OF HIS WAY TO RECEIVE HIS GLORY.
